March was all about finishing the thatched roof on the barn and the tiled roof on the extension. There was plenty of
other work going on inside, especially in the inside of the roofs, but not much in the way of visible progress.
At the risk of stating the blindingly obvious - work progresses on the roofs.
The finishing touch to the thatch is the wire netting. For the record, Jeff the Thatcher top man and perfectionist.
There is a good feeling when the roofs are near completion - it makes the barn feel more of a building and less
of a construction site.
The ridge of the thatch - (pic taken by a bloke with fear of heights but well worth the nervous climb up the ladder).
The walls of bedroom two and the ensuite are being formed up in the far left hand corner while battening between the
rafters in readiness for the plasterboard continues in the rest of the roof.
With both roofs complete work moves inside in April while we wait for the windows to arrive on site.
